A very dear friend of mine, Collette Lewis is just finishing her degree in textiles at Nottingham Trent and has sent me a preview of her work for the final major project.I have always been fond of Collette's love of colour, I don't think I've ever seen her wear a single item of black, always in brights, like a pretty rainbow.
The Project is based on the concept of light. True to her style and personality she wanted to incorporate bright colours into the work, the yarns used to create the fabric are pure silk and hand dyed to get a light reflecting lustre.
Collette has a great passion concerning the importance of reviving traditional crafts and skills in Britain and this project allows her to do just that.
Beautiful work. Im very proud.
